St Mary's Church - Whitby

The unprecedented rainfall in 2012 wrought havoc on the seaside town of Whitby.

Houses were demolished due to landslides and the historic St Mary's Church  was threatened when the edge of the graveyard fell away, due to very wet ground conditions.

High Peak Geotechnical have worked extensively  on the Yorkshire coast and were the first choice of Alan Wood & Partners to carry out remedial works.

The works included, Rock Netting, Self Drilling Anchors, Soil Nails, & Erosion Control Matting, supplied by Minova Weldgrip and Duckbill Anchors Supplied by Anchor Systems Ltd.

The project was shortlisted for the "John Fowler Award" at the ICE Yorkshire and Humber Awards 2015.
